Why fax beats mail here
A fax gives you a timestamped transmission report — your proof of timely filing if the deadline is ever questioned. Mail gives you a postmark only if you pay for certified mail and keep the receipt. When we file for you, the fax receipt lands in your inbox the same day.

Can I e-file Form 2553?
No general e-file path exists for a standalone Form 2553 — it's fax or mail. (Some tax software attaches it to a first return in limited cases; the standalone filing is paper channels.) [Verify at publish]
How do I know the IRS received it?
Keep the fax transmission report, then expect the CP261 acceptance notice by mail within about 60 days. Past two months of silence, the IRS says to call 800-829-4933.
